Harmonizing bitters is an alcohol extract of an herbal formula that follows the Eclectic tradition of using the bitter taste to stimulate digestive juices and support easy flow and function of the digestive system. Because organs and emotions are intimately connected, by supporting the liver and gallbladder specifically, this formula helps us feel kinder (to others and ourselves), less irritated or irrational, and more open to possibility and taking healthy risks.

This bitters formula circulates qi, opens tension in the liver, stimulates the gallbladder, and nourishes kidney essence. The synergy of these herbs cool the mucosa, stabilize and rectify the qi, and drain excess dampness and cold that can lead to sluggish digestion, loose stool, prolapsed organs, and poor assimilation of nutrients. It is strengthening in small, frequent doses.*

Moistening and cooling, mucilage helps hydrate dry and irritated tissue lining aggravated by heat and inflammation.
